Varonis DatAnswers is a web-based search engine that displays the search results to the user according to the user's permissions to view files. The results contain UNC links to the files matching the search criteria. Chrome’s default behavior prevents users from opening files in UNC format (that is, file://FileServer/share/filename). This extension enables authorized DatAnswers users to open files and folders in UNC format through the DatAnswers search engine. When a link is clicked, the extension verifies whether that link is valid and generated by DatAnswers and then opens the link in a new browser tab.
