Since Chrome 46, Chrome "discards" tabs to free up RAM memory — if you navigate back to a tab that's been discarded, it will reload.
And since Chrome 75, you can't turn tab discarding off in chrome://flags.

To disable automatic tab discarding, now that the flag is gone, simply install this extension!
This extension works exactly like the flag used to, when it was disabled.
No permissions needed!

Please note disabling tab discarding may cause higher RAM usage in your PC.
